crisis and resilience simulator

Using simulations and obtaining the best possible Standard Operating Procedures as input for the overall resilience and impact assessment we aim to offer a complete view on the response to potential major crisis situations as grounds for increasing preparedness and resilience through the actual implementation of the measures tested within the platform

the problem

It was clear for many authorities that their level of preparedness for responding to a major crisis situation (such as epidemic/pandemic, COVID-19) is not at the expected level. It was also clear that the actual resilience (the capacity to respond at an acceptable level) was not accurate evaluated considering the shortages experienced (mostly with regard to medical supplies and critical human resources). The impact on the economy was also not very well foreseen.

More than 10 years of experience in designing and implementing IT systems for Emergency Services and an outstanding multi-disciplinary and multi-national team started this journey a while ago, in Istanbul, with the simulation of a major earthquake. Since then, we collected feedback from people involved in the real fight with disasters and we came to what we call today the Crisis and Resilience Simulation Platform.

the objectives

  • better preparedness of crisis response authorities through the assessment of the standard operating procedures
  • increased resilience of the crisis response authorities through evaluation of the crisis impact on critical assets
  • complete view on the potential crisis impact (response, social, economical)
  • effective support for businesses through simulations of crisis management plans, resilience and compliance assessments
  • a pan-European repository of best practices and data as grounds for enabling the coordinated and unique European response to major crisis situations

our future customers

  • governments and central crisis management authorities
  • regional/local authorities and municipalities
  • public and private hospitals
  • SMEs, mid-caps and corporations

the complexity

We designed the platform on the basis of two main principles: rapid deployment and usability. The user experience that will be offered to out customers and users aims to encourage the adoption even in organisations where the penetration of the modern technologies is not so high.

The platform is (by design) highly scalable in order to allow “one-click” deployment. On the other hand, the user experience that will offer to the users comes with a “price” of complexity. The platform will be hosted in server less environments, connected to the services offered by the major players in this domain. Besides the technical advantages of not being necessary to develop functionalities that are already available and mature, this approach will have a positive impact in the commercial and pricing strategy as “pay-per-use” and “pay-as-you-go” principles can by applicable back-to-back.
